The 101-foot gaff-rigged schooner , Adventuress, was built in 1923 as a pilot boat and met tall ships outside the Golden Gate and guided them into San Francisco Bay. She has been in Puget Sound for over 30 years providing educational programs in marine ecology and history on voyages from one to ten days.
