The 85-foot Naknek, a wood “power scow” was originally built to haul freight to the Aleutian Islands during WWII and was used as a salmon tender throughout Alaska until she hit an uncharted rock and sank in Prince William Sound. The artist was her Captain during the summer of 1983.
